For those who accompany professionally

If you prescribe reading,
here is reading to prescribe.

VIDHA is a set of psychoeducation guides written by a psychologist, with the fact that supports each one in plain view, no ads, no tracking, nothing to sell. They are written to be read at four in the morning — and so that a professional can hand them over without having to explain them.

Each guide names what is happening to the person, explains the mechanism with the evidence at the foot, proposes concrete steps and always refers to professional care. They do not diagnose, treat or replace the consultation: they accompany it. There are three ways to prescribe them.

By link

Every guide has a Send this guide button that copies the clean address, no parameters. It opens the same on any phone, no sign-up, no cookies.

On paper

Any guide prints clean from the browser: no menus or forms, with the sources and the guide’s address at the foot so the person can return to it.

The whole book

All the guides in one free book that is not for sale: PDF to print, EPUB for the phone. It can be left in a waiting room.

The guides, by topic

Relationships that hurt

  • When the harm comes from home

It doesn't take a monster to be damaged at home. Why "but they're your parents" is a tool of control, grieving the parent you never had, and why you don't have to forgive to be well.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/when-the-harm-comes-from-family
  • Signs of emotional manipulation

The most reliable signs aren't in the other person — they're in what you've stopped doing, what your body says, and patterns that look like love.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/signs-of-emotional-manipulation
  • When they make you doubt your own memory

The systematic manufacturing of doubt about your own mind. What it is, how it sounds, the telltale sign — and the way out.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/gaslighting-doubting-your-own-memory
  • Why it's so hard to leave

Knowing it hurts and staying isn't weakness — it's three engineered mechanisms: the invisible debt, the false repair, the echo.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/why-its-so-hard-to-leave
  • When you can't be without someone

Emotional dependency isn't loving a lot — it's your whole wellbeing living inside someone else. Where it comes from, the trap it opens, and how to come back to your own centre.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/when-you-cant-be-without-someone
  • How to set boundaries without guilt

The guilt of a new boundary isn't a sign you did wrong — it's an unused muscle aching. Where it comes from, and what makes a no hold.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/how-to-set-boundaries-without-guilt
  • The guilt that won't let go

Not all guilt is the same: one steers you, one only sinks you, and a third is installed by others to control you. How to tell them apart, and how to put down what isn't yours.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/the-guilt-that-wont-let-go

Anxiety, insomnia and overwhelming emotions

  • When your body thinks you're dying

What's actually happening in your body during a panic attack, why it feels like a heart attack and isn't, what to do while it lasts, and what quietly makes it worse.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/panic-attack-what-to-do
  • The anxiety that won't switch off

Anxiety isn't an enemy or madness: it's an alarm that goes off with no real danger. Why the body reacts this way, why fighting it feeds it, and how to let the wave pass.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/the-anxiety-that-wont-switch-off
  • Why your mind races at night

Rumination isn't thinking — it's the same groove spinning with the worst brain of your day. Why night, the 3 AM rule, worry time.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/why-your-mind-races-at-night
  • The anger you don't know where to put

Anger is rarely the real problem: it's the guardian of something more fragile —hurt, fear, a crossed line. Why it erupts, what it hides, and how to give it a way out without causing harm.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/the-anger-you-dont-know-where-to-put
  • The camera pointing at you

You've spent half your life in social situations and it hasn't shifted. It isn't lack of practice: two things stop experience from teaching you. What they are, and what to do about them.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/the-camera-pointing-at-you
  • One more search and I'll be calm

The sensations are real; what goes wrong is what you do with them. Why monitoring produces what you fear, why the relief lasts less each time, and where the line is between this and a medical visit that genuinely applies.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/one-more-search-and-ill-be-calm
  • The thought you didn't choose

93.6% of people have unwanted thoughts that horrify them. It isn't the thought that's the problem: it's what you do with it. Why trying not to think it brings it back, and what to do instead.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/the-thought-you-didnt-choose
  • You wake at four and remember you're going to die

Fear of death sits underneath more than it seems: panic, checking symptoms, not sleeping. Why it comes at night, why distraction feeds it, and what to do instead.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/waking-at-four-remembering-you-will-die

Your relationship with yourself

  • When everyone else's life looks better

You compare your inside with the outside other people show — a rigged measurement. Why it hurts more than ever, what envy is actually telling you, and how to stop playing that game.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/comparing-yourself-to-others
  • The shame that makes you hide

Guilt says “I did something bad”; shame says “I am bad”. Why it makes you hide, why secrecy keeps it alive, and what truly undoes it.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/the-shame-that-makes-you-hide
  • The guilt that won't let go

Not all guilt is the same: one steers you, one only sinks you, and a third is installed by others to control you. How to tell them apart, and how to put down what isn't yours.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/the-guilt-that-wont-let-go
  • It went well, and all you see is what didn't

The problem isn't the high standards: it's what you tell yourself when you fall short. Why the fear of easing off is unfounded, what's measured, and why this makes you ask for help less.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/when-nothing-is-ever-enough
  • It isn't that you're worth little. It's that you're keeping score

Self-esteem is a score, not a foundation: that's why it rises when you get things right and collapses when you fail. What actually holds is something else — and the famous finding about affirmations didn't replicate.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/self-esteem-that-rises-and-falls

Grief, loss and caring for someone

  • Grief has no deadline: the empty chair

No stages to complete, no expiry date. Grief comes in waves, the bond changes shape rather than ends, and staying alive is not betrayal.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/grief-has-no-deadline
  • What your body kept doing afterwards

What happens after a traumatic event — images that come back, startling, avoiding — isn't weakness: it's a body still on alert. What's expected, what keeps it going, and when to ask for help.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/after-something-terrible
  • It ended, and nobody was the villain

A breakup with no villain is grief too, even without a funeral or permission to be unwell. Why it hurts in the body, what quietly prolongs it, and what actually helps.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/when-it-ends-and-nobody-was-the-villain
  • Nobody says how they died

The question with no answer, the guilt that reviews the past, and everyone else's silence. Why you get less support than other bereaved people — it's measured — and what actually helps.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/when-the-death-was-a-suicide
  • There was no funeral, and someone is still missing

No funeral, no leave, no condolences — and someone is still missing. Why this grief hurts differently, what the figures nobody quotes actually say, and why your partner seems to carry it another way.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/the-loss-nobody-names

Being there for someone you love

  • Being there, without being able to fix it

Someone you love is suffering and you can't fix it. Why helping isn't fixing, what to say when there's nothing to say, and how not to empty yourself.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/how-to-support-someone-suffering
  • When a child you love is ill

When a child you love is gravely ill and you can't cure it. What to do with the helplessness, what to say to him, where to find real help — and how to hold even what can't be said aloud.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/when-a-child-you-love-is-ill
  • Someone I love said they don't want to go on

Asking directly doesn't make it worse: it has been studied and it doesn't increase risk. How to ask, what to say, what not to say, and how to be there without carrying it alone.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/someone-i-love-said-they-dont-want-to-go-on
  • You've been holding someone up for months

Caring wears everyone down equally: it has been measured and it doesn't depend on character. Why the guilt arrives exactly when you're most exhausted, and the only things shown to help.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/the-wearing-down-of-the-one-who-cares
  • You know they need help, and they won't go

Insisting usually achieves the opposite. What is measured: how to raise it without confrontation, what to do with the arguments, and why getting help for yourself improves things even if they don't change.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/when-they-wont-get-help
  • They shut the door and I don't know if it's normal

Three criteria that separate ordinary adolescence from a real problem: how long it lasts, how heavy it is, and how much of their life it reaches. And why in a teenager depression usually looks like anger, not sadness.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/my-teenager-shuts-the-door

When the mood goes out

  • The day that won't start

Depression isn't sadness and isn't laziness: it's a state where the system that gives you the urge to do things dims. Why it keeps itself going, why waiting to feel like it is the trap, and where the first real step is.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/the-day-that-wont-start
  • The drink that became necessary

This isn't about whether you're an alcoholic. It's about how a drink that soothed became one you need, why the rebound worsens exactly what you were soothing, and why stopping abruptly can be dangerous.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/the-drink-that-became-necessary
  • The loneliness you didn't choose

Loneliness isn't being alone — it's the gap between the company you have and the one you need. The trap that keeps it alive, and where you start.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/the-loneliness-you-didnt-choose
  • Who you are when there's no one left to fight

You got out — and now the emptiness. Why the after hurts differently, the unfinished self, and relearning to want.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/rebuilding-after-a-relationship-that-erased-you
  • You're not sad. Nothing gets through

It isn't sadness: nothing reaches you. Why flatness looks nothing like the depression everyone knows, why it goes unnoticed for years, and what can be done about it.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/when-nothing-gets-through

Decisions, work and asking for help

  • The thing you can't get started

You don't procrastinate because you're lazy: you're avoiding what you feel when you approach the task. Why punishing yourself makes it worse, and what actually helps you start.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/why-you-keep-putting-it-off
  • How to make hard decisions

Paralysis is also a decision — usually the worst. Reversible vs irreversible doors, and four tools for deciding with the fear inside.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/how-to-make-hard-decisions
  • When work is draining you

Tiredness is cured by rest; depletion isn't. What truly drains you at work, the identity trap, and the Sunday dread.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/when-work-is-draining-you
  • How to set boundaries without guilt

The guilt of a new boundary isn't a sign you did wrong — it's an unused muscle aching. Where it comes from, and what makes a no hold.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/how-to-set-boundaries-without-guilt
  • How to find a therapist who actually helps

Who's who, where to start by budget, what's normal in a first session — and the permission to switch if it doesn't fit.

    vidha.eu/en/guides/how-to-find-a-therapist
  • You are not a disaster with money

Worrying about money uses up mental capacity in a measurable way: the equivalent of a night without sleep. That's why thinking is harder exactly when it matters most. What can be done with your head even if the numbers don't change.
